People in Germany
Edit ThisThe people in Germany seem to be quite helpful towards English speaking people. Many Germans know some English and if you want to increase your chance of meeting someone who speaks English I recommend approaching someone young or middle aged. (English is a mandatory language in German schools)
Even older people will try to help you (some don't speak English that fluently) and you will find only few people fitting into the usual prejudices foreigners have towards Germans
Many have a good general education and love to talk about politics, philosophy, music, history (you can mention the war!), literature, sports etc. .
Germans use to be open and often tell you the truth which surprises foreigners from countries where they constantly butter each other. Honesty and openness are regarded as being polite.
